Concrete Slab Pumping Across Toronto & the GTA

Slab pours need a steady supply of concrete to the placing crew. When the mixer cannot discharge directly beside the slab, a line pump can move concrete from the loading point to the floor, pad or slab through pipe and hose.
Before the slab pour
  • Base & grade ready
  • Forms complete
  • Reinforcement ready
  • Line route clear
  • Ready-mix time confirmed
  • Finishing crew on site
  • Washout planned

Slabs we commonly pump

Line pumping can suit many slab and flatwork jobs when the mix, access, line distance and crew plan fit the equipment.
Basement floorsConcrete delivered below grade when the mixer stays outside.
Garage slabsConcrete moved across the floor while the crew places and levels it.
House & addition slabsUseful where direct chute placement is limited.
Backyard padsConcrete routed around the home to rear placements.
Detached structuresGarages, sheds and accessory-building pads beyond truck reach.
Commercial floorsSuitable slabs where truck flow and production rate fit the line pump.

Garage, house & backyard slabs

A slab can be close to the street and still be awkward for direct truck placement. The pump keeps the ready-mix at a workable loading point while the hose is moved as the crew works across the concrete.

Commercial slab pumping

Larger slabs place more emphasis on volume, truck flow, pump-line distance and placement sequence. The crew and concrete deliveries have to keep pace with each other.

A pump cannot fix an unprepared slab

The base, grade, forms, reinforcement and access should be complete before concrete arrives. The route needs to be clear and the placing and finishing crew should already be on site.

The smoother the site preparation, the smoother the pumping portion of the job.
