LONG-DISTANCE LINE PUMPING · TORONTO & GTA
Some jobs are difficult because of narrow access. Others are difficult because the placement area is simply far from the ready-mix truck.
Longer pumping runs need more planning than a basic driveway-to-slab setup. Distance, elevation, bends, pipe configuration and concrete mix all matter.
Send the route distance, elevation and access photos before concrete is ordered whenever possible.
Real long-run line-pump setup. Pipe and hose are routed from an accessible loading point toward the placement area.
There is no single distance that accurately answers every job. Practical pumping distance depends on the complete system and the concrete being pumped.
That is why we do not publish one universal maximum distance for every project.
Two jobs with the same measured distance can behave very differently. A relatively straight route over level ground may be simpler than a shorter route with several bends and a significant vertical rise.
Fewer bends, stable pipe, practical truck position and clear placement access.
More turns, vertical change, flexible hose movement or restricted loading access.
Useful for creating a stable route over longer sections of the job.
Useful near the placement area and where the line needs to move with the crew.
The final configuration should follow the actual site rather than a fixed template. Route planning matters before the truck arrives.
As pumping distance and resistance increase, pumpability becomes more important.
The ready-mix producer should know the concrete will be pumped and should provide a suitable mix for the project requirements.
Need concrete too? Ask for pump + ready-mix pricing when you contact us. We can help arrange concrete through a well-established local producer and coordinate timing with the pump booking.
Long run does not automatically mean difficult—but it does mean the full route should be reviewed before booking.
Long-run jobs should be discussed before concrete is ordered whenever possible.
If the issue is both distance and access, these pages may help you plan the job:
