HARD-ACCESS LINE PUMPING · TORONTO & GTA

Concrete Pumping for Places the Ready-Mix Truck Cannot Reach

A narrow side yard, basement entrance, backyard location, stairs, retaining wall or finished driveway can make a simple concrete pour difficult before the truck even arrives.

A line pump keeps the ready-mix truck at an accessible loading point while pipe and hose carry the concrete to the work area.

Send photos or a short video of the entire route before booking.

Concrete pump hose routed through framed construction for hard-access concrete placement.

Real hard-access job. The line is routed through framed construction because the concrete truck cannot discharge beside the placement area.

What counts as a hard-access concrete job?

A hard-access job is any pour where the ready-mix truck cannot practically discharge beside the forms.

Narrow side yardsLimited room between homes, fencing or landscaping.
BackyardsThe pour is behind the house and away from truck access.
BasementsConcrete has to travel down or through a limited entry point.
Rear additionsThe existing home sits between the truck and the work area.
Stairs & grade changesThe route includes elevation changes or retaining walls.
Finished propertiesHeavy vehicles need to stay off finished driveways or landscaping.

The challenge is not always distance. A short route with several tight turns can require more planning than a longer open run.

Why a line pump works well for tight access

A line pump lets the heavy delivery vehicles remain in an accessible loading area while concrete travels through pipe and flexible hose to the work zone.

Keep the mixer out frontNo need to force a ready-mix truck deep onto the property.
Route around structuresPipe and hose can follow side access and available paths.
Reduce manual movementConcrete does not have to be moved long distances by wheelbarrow.
Protect finished areasHeavy truck traffic can stay away from lawns and finished landscaping.

What to send before a hard-access pour

1Street / driveway setup
Show where the pump and ready-mix truck can stop.
2Side-yard or gate width
Approximate measurements help us understand the route.
3Stairs & elevation
Show any drops, rises, retaining walls or lower levels.
4Corners & obstacles
Fences, landscaping, walls and tight turns matter.
5Total route distance
Approximate distance from pump setup to the placement area.
6Photos or a walk-through video
A short video from the truck position to the pour is extremely useful.

The fastest way to review difficult access is to show us the complete route before pour day.

Hard access does not mean every job is pumpable

A line pump increases access flexibility, but every site still has limits. Route distance, elevation, concrete mix, aggregate, hose configuration and safe working space all matter.

Unusual jobs should be reviewed before concrete is ordered. If the route is not practical for a line pump, we would rather identify that before pour day.

Hard-access pumping across Toronto & the GTA

We serve suitable projects across Toronto and surrounding GTA communities. Dense urban properties may have very little access. Suburban properties may have longer side-yard or backyard routes. Larger properties may have fewer obstructions but greater distance.

The setup changes with the site. Access photos are more useful than guessing based on the project type alone.

Hard-access concrete pumping FAQ

Often, yes. We need the approximate width, distance, turns and any elevation changes to review the route.
Often, yes. Backyard work is a common reason customers use a line pump when the ready-mix truck cannot reach the pour.
Potentially. The entry point, route, elevation, concrete mix and working space need to be reviewed first.
Stairs and elevation changes should be shown before the job so the route and hose configuration can be evaluated.
Send photos or a short video, approximate measurements, concrete volume and job details. We can assess whether a line-pump setup is practical.

Need concrete too?

Book your pump and ask us for ready-mix pricing. We can help arrange concrete through a well-established local ready-mix producer and coordinate the delivery timing with the access plan.
